Students for Justice in Palestine Launch and Workshop Event!
SJP Launch and Workshop Event!
Thursday February 9th, 2012 from 7-9pm
UNO's Milo Bail Student Center- State Room (2nd Floor)
Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and community members, organized on democratic principles to promote justice, human rights, liberation, and self-determination for the Palestinian people. We are dedicated to standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people's struggle for freedom.
We seek to engage with our peers to develop a richer understanding about the Israeli occupation of Palestine on campus and to find ways that we as students in the United States can intervene on a local and international scale to end the injustice of colonization and discrimination.
Just as SJP condemns the racism and discrimination underlying the policies and laws of the state of Israel, SJP rejects any form of hatred or discrimination against any religious, racial, or ethnic group. SJP’s strength is in the great diversity of its membership. SJP welcomes individuals of all ethnic and religious backgrounds to join in solidarity with the struggle for justice in Palestine
We welcome all UNO students and faculty, as well as students, faculty and non-students from Omaha and surround areas.
If you are interested in being part of a strong movement for justice in Palestine or wish to learn more about our work please join us this Thursday!
This Important Event Will Include:
1. Information on the advocacy and divestment campaigns SJP and Omaha community members will be working on over the next year 2. Your chance to sign up and begin planning UNO's Divestment Campaign and the upcoming Apartheid Week at the end of February
